Konfir verifications are generated digitally using only the verified data sources your candidate consented to connect. Konfir can only return verified data that we were able to evidence from those sources.
This article covers two common scenarios:
Some data is missing - i.e. the verification result is partially complete
No data is returned - i.e. the verification result is completely blank
1) Some data is missing
This happens when the candidate connected at least one source, but the connected sources could not provide a specific data point.
Common missing fields
Data | Why it may be missing |
Job title | Job titles are most commonly available via payroll. If payroll wasn’t connected, or the payroll provider doesn’t reliably store roles, this may be blank. |
Income totals (gross annual) | Totals require sufficient income evidence over a relevant period. If evidence coverage is partial, totals may be missing or incomplete. |
What to do
If a missing field is required for your process, you will need to obtain it via your fallback process outside Konfir (for example documents or other evidence your policy accepts).
2) No data is returned
This usually means Konfir could not retrieve any usable evidence to complete the verification
Common reasons
The candidate didn’t connect any data sources, or did not finish the connection/consent steps.
The candidate connected one or more sources, but no relevant data existed for the employment/income period you requested (for example, the source did not cover that timeframe or did not contain the relevant records).
In these cases, the timeline typically shows activities as Not Connected, or Connected with insufficient evidence.
What to do
You have two practical options:
Follow your fallback process to obtain the required evidence, or
Re-run the verification (if your process allows) and ask the candidate to connect the relevant source(s).
