Overview

When you submit a verification request, the applicant is invited to complete a short Konfir journey. During this journey, they securely share employment and/or income information needed to complete the verification.

The experience is designed to be fast, clear, and stress-free for applicants, while giving them full control and transparency throughout the process.

1) Invite Sent

If the verification was created via API, the applicant is passed directly into the Konfir journey. If it was created via Konsole (single request or bulk upload), the applicant receives a secure link by email and/or SMS.

2) Applicant Journey

The applicant is then guided through connecting one or more data sources to share their employment/income data.

Applicants do not need a Konfir account to begin. They can complete the journey on desktop or mobile, and can pause and resume as needed.

Most applicants complete the full process in 2–5 minutes. Longer durations may occur if login credentials are unavailable or the applicant needs more time to review the process.

Consent

During this process, the applicant is asked to provide informed, explicit consent to proceed. This includes:

  • What information is being requested

  • Why it’s needed

  • How their data is used

  • Who will receive the result

Control

Applicants remain in control throughout and can choose which data sources to connect.

Note: The data sources shown to the applicant depend on what is configured on your Konfir account, and what type of activity is being verified.

4) Verification Submitted

Once the applicant has connected their data sources and reviewed their information, they submit the verification. Konfir processes verification data immediately and the result becomes available in Konsole and via API.

Note: After submission, the applicant cannot edit their responses

Invites, reminders, and expiry

For invite-based verifications (Konsole and CSV):

  • the initial invite is sent immediately

  • automatic reminders are sent if the applicant hasn’t completed the journey

  • the verification expires after 7 days if not submitted

If a verification expires, the requester can resend the invite, which resets the expiry window.
