Overview
Open Banking provides access to bank transaction data from accounts the applicant chooses to connect. Konfir evaluates this data to identify sources of income (including employment) by using indicators such as: payee name, transaction frequency, volume and metadata

Supported Account types
Applicants can connect to any supported UK bank account that they have Online Banking access to, including the following account types:
Supported | Not Supported |
Personal accounts | Credit card accounts |
Joint accounts* | Savings-only accounts |
Business accounts | Foreign (non-UK) accounts |
Note: For joint accounts, the other named account holder may need to enable Open Banking access through their own login, if not already enabled.
History window
By default, Konfir retrieves up to 6 years of transaction history from supported UK banks. This is the maximum window most banks make available through Open Banking.
Providers offer shorter histories:
Provider | Available Transaction History |
Bank of Ireland UK | 1 year |
Nationwide | 15 months |
Barclays | 2 years |
Allied Irish Bank | 2 years |
Santander | 2 years |
Danske Bank | 25 months |
TSB | 5 years |
If you need evidence for older periods than the connected Open Banking history supports, another enabled source may provide better coverage.
Other FAQs
Why can’t an applicant find their bank?
This is usually because the bank or brand is not currently supported for Open Banking connections, or the applicant is using an account type that isn’t eligible for connection.
Can applicants connect more than one account?
Yes. If an applicant has received income into multiple accounts through the period being verified, they should connect all available accounts
