Payroll data provides a low-friction way to verify employment.

Konfir connects directly to payroll systems to retrieve structured employment and income data, with no need for the applicant to log in or provide credentials.

What Payroll Data Includes:

Payroll data is sourced directly from payroll providers - such as Sage, ADP, HiBob, Moorepay, and others - through employer-set authorisations.

This data includes:

  • Employer name

  • Start and end dates

  • Job title

  • Employment status (e.g. current, former)

  • Monthly or annual income

  • Payment frequency

Why does Konfir use Payroll data?

  • No login needed from the applicant

  • Job title always available

What are the limitations?

  • Only available for employers who have enabled payroll integration

  • Less common for legacy or very small businesses

Note: If the applicant's employer doesn't use a supported payroll provider, Konfir will automatically fall back to HMRC or Open Banking

How does Konfir access payroll data?

Konfir retrieves Payroll data by inviting the applicant to share this data during the Konfir applicant journey. This process involves:

  1. The applicant consents to data access

  2. Konfir automatically detects a matching payroll provider.

  3. Konfir retrieves verified records from the payroll system.

Note: Applicants do not need to provide credentials as payroll data access is granted at the employer level, provided that the applicant consents.
